Your Approach

Now that you have decided to expand your business or to start a new sharpening business adventure in Nail Nipper Sharpening, you will want to think about "your approach".

The first thing you need to do is to Sell Yourself. Your Approach to selling yourself to Nail Techs, Salon Owners or Podiatrists needs to always be Professional. They are Professionals and they will expect you to be a Professional.

You need to dress appropriately. Remember, you will be walking into Doctors offices and upscale day spa and salons. The owners expect their employees to always look and act Professional and the same will be true when you walk through their door. Your first impression needs to be a good one. Be clean and dress for success. Don't be overdressed (no suits and ties) but don't be under dressed (cut offs, ripped jeans and faded and farad pants).

You should be well spoken and polite. You should extend your hand and smile. The more confident you look and sound the more likely the Doctor and Spa Owner will listen to what you have to say and will consider using you for the services you are selling.

The Approach you use will determine if you get that all important "First Try". Your Approach can make the difference in getting to explain your sharpening services or getting asked to leave.

Nail Nipper Sharpening is a new rising business opportunity. It is perfect for those folks who are "driven" and want to build a new business. It does take dedication and time. The Approach you choose can either shorten or lengthen the time it will take to build your new nipper sharpening business.

Remember, Your Approach needs you to be well dressed, well groomed and to administer your nipper sharpening service and skill with a high degree of confidence. The more confident you are the more likely they are to believe in you and your ability to sharpen their nail nippers.

The Success of hardwork

We received a call from one of our Nipper Sharpening Systems customer today. He has owned his Nipper Sharpener since October 2007 and he had never sharpened a thing in his life until he purchased his Nipper Sharpening System. He just called to let us know that his new adventure had worked out quite well for him. He had worked hard on marketing his nail nipper sharpening business and he was pleased with how things were progressing.

He got the idea to start a part time nail nipper sharpening business because a relative owned a nail salon. The family member was not impressed with mailing off her nippers to be sharpened and there wasn't any shear sharpeners in her area that were willing to sharpen her nail nippers. She encouraged him to learn the skill of Nipper Sharpening and to start his own Nail Nipper sharpening business. He put a great deal of thought into this idea. Soon he was convinced that this could become a profitable part time sharpening business for him.

He came to our shop and took the Personal Hands on Training and purchased a machine. After his training session he stayed and wanted to talk business. He needed to learn how to begin his new business adventure and how to market his nipper sharpening skills. He knew he was a complete novice to the sharpening world but he had the drive and work ethics it would take to start his new adventure.

He really followed the advice he was given that day. He was told to practice his nipper sharpening and to watch the instructional DVD every time before his practice sessions and to work with one or two nail techs who could critique him on how well he was doing at nail nipper sharpening.

He told us that in the beginning he made mistakes. One of his more common mistakes was using a heavy hand when he was performing the sharpening process. Once he caught on to a "light touch" he and his nail techs were pleased.

He said that in the beginning he only sharpened in his comfort zone. He stayed in his comfort zone sharpening for his relatives for two months. Once he felt a high level of confidence with his new found sharpening skills he then began to market his new business.

He just recently started to market his skills out of his comfort zone area and his business is really taking off. He said things were going very well and even though he took it slow in the beginning he felt that was the right thing to do. His hard work is starting to really pay off for him.

We were happy to hear that things down south were going great for him and that all the practice and DVD watching paid off.

When we were children, our teachers and our parents always would say, "practice makes perfect" they were right and the same is true for those learning to sharpen nippers consistently using the Nipper Sharpening System. Hard work, Drive, Determination and Practice are the key words to make your nipper sharpening company a success.

Not Giving Up

Today's blog is meant for those who are trying to learn the skill of Nail Nipper sharpening. Nipper Sharpening can be irritating or frustrating in the beginning when the sharpener is just a newbie and learning the skill.

At times you will feel discouraged. But, remember Nothing is ever gained by Giving Up. And you will feel very accomplished once you finally master the sharpening skill of Nail Nipper Sharpening. By Not Giving Up you will be able to open an entire new business that is yours for the taking. You will just need to learn to market yourself and your new found Nipper sharpening skills. None of this can be accomplished by Giving Up.

With that said, The Clipper Shack company would like to give you some words of encouragement that will make you think about the importance of setting your sharpening goals and achieving the skill of Nail Nipper Sharpening by Not Giving Up.

The story told below was given to me by a friend. It is inspirational and when you really read it you will get the meaning of Not Giving Up. You can become a master Nail Nipper Sharpener, just Don't give up and always believe in yourself.

Not Giving Up
I can remember a period in my life when I was unemployed and money was running short. I needed a job very badly and it seemed as if no one was hiring.

A very good friend of mine approached me one day with an offer. "I'm going to have to let this job go and I was wondering if you would like to take it over?

""That would be great," I replied.

I went to speak with the manager and he said he could use me, but never gave me a start date. Really needing the job, I made it a point to go and check in with him every day. I knew he would eventually get tired of me and give me a starting period. Finally one day he said, "You can start Monday morning."

Come Monday morning, I showed up for work extra early. I was ready to do my best. When I went inside I was informed that I would be buffing the floors. My friend was there to show me how to operate the buffer.

"It's real easy," he said, running the machine very smoothly.

He handed it over to me and said, "Here, you give it a try.

"I grabbed the handles with a "no problem" attitude and gave it some gas. To my surprise, the buffer whipped around in a big circle, running over my friend's brand new pair of boots, and sending him jumping up on a check-out counter.

Several times, I tried to run it again and failed. I really had to fight that thing to make it go.

"What am I going to do?" I thought to myself. "I finally found a job and I can't do it. Am I going to have to tell them I have to quit?"

After several rough days of buffing, I finally made up my mind that I was going to do this. For about a week, I struggled with the buffer, putting all my weight and strength into it. Eventually, I learned the trick was not to struggle with it at all, just go with the flow of it, and by the second week, I was showing off and running it with one hand.

A few months later, I thought back and wondered what would have happened if I had given up that first week. I certainly would not have had the new found confidence or a paycheck. Sometime after that experience, I started a new job that required the use of a buffer. I even had to train others to use it, and I always got a kick out of seeing them run it for the first time. I knew, though, if they stuck with it, they would do just fine; they just needed a little encouragement and a lot of practice.

Michael Jordan said, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

This inspirational story was wrote by Kip Davis and it is a story that rings so true to things and events in my life.

We would never had built a Nipper Sharpening System or Never learned to sharpen Nippers if we just gave up. It was the Not Giving Up attitude that kept us going until we mastered the skill of Nipper Sharpening.

We hope this story helps you to achieve your goals and to Not Give Up on your dreams and goals.
